Introducing Fiona

I know I know. One should never get a new pet when in mourning about a recent loss of one. But actually this was starting to come about before we put Tobie down. As you know my Dad recently got a new Puppy and the boys had a blast with all of them at the breeders house (a friend of a friend happens to be the breeder) we even talked about getting one but decided it wasn't a good time.

So fast forward to this past week and we have been really excited at how well my Dads dog has been doing with our cats. Since its as small (or smaller actualy) than our cats it was interesting to see how well this breed (Chihuahua) got along with cats. Got us thinking again about getting one but put it in the back of our head and then this week came and we put Tobie down and it was so hard and we really miss him lots. He was the head of the house we called him.

Today we get a call from my friend and she tells me her Mom wants to know if we want one of these puppys, there is one left and the couple that was going to take him no longer can and they cant find a home for her. So she wanted us to think about it, she knows we would be a great home, cats for her to play with, kids who got along really well with the dogs. But I was thinking, wow a lot of work!!!

So James and I talked about it, and said well will their really be the "perfect" time to introduce a dog into the house. Probably not. But what better time than summer to do it, with the weather perfect for walks and my new family healthy attitude its actually probably not to bad of time to do this. Soooooo that left just two things. One to make sure how she would do with the kids and two how she would do with the cats. So we took the kids to my friends house who has dogs anyways and let the kids play with her so there was no expectations and including of what was going on to the kids, all they know is we went to visit. They did great, loved her of course and she was thrilled to play with them.

She came home with us last night and we had a great night. She really is like one of the cats just we can take her out for walk haha.

We look forward to her adding a little spice to the Jordan house.
